4 Tips to Get Rid of Your Extra Pounds
Weight loss is hard for sure but weight gain is fairly easier. That is the reason why there are millions of obese adults in America but very few of them are actually able to lose weight permanently. There are many reasons why people become overweight, one of the most common reasons being an uninhibited lifestyle.
People don’t care about what they are putting into their mouths; they think it is okay to eat junk foods and sit on the sofa the entire day. They think it is okay not to walk or workout. And more often than not, these are the reasons behind weight gain. The other reason is hereditary. Some people are overweight because of hereditary reasons. Nonetheless, you can lose weight if you work hard for it!
Obesity is a serious disease, and one that is spiraling out of control, No wonder that the weight loss industry has turned into a multi-bullion dollar industry, what with people spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on ‘quick fix’ weight loss solutions in the hope that they would help them melt away the extra pounds. Most of the Americans have developed a false belief system that it is possible to lose weight for a short period with the help of diet pills and supplements. They never tend to look beyond the short term goal. No wonder most of them are seldom able to lose any considerable amount of weight, even after spending so much money on diet and weight loss products.
I tell you what – weight loss is not expensive and impossible! It is possible and you can do it for free! Here are four ways to make sure you don’t fall in that tempting ‘weight loss trap’.
1. Write down your weight loss goals in black and white: Most people make the mistake of not writing their weight loss goals and then, after a while, get confused and forget about their destination. To avoid this, write down your long term weight loss goal and then break it down into shorter, achievable goals!
2. Reward yourself: Make sure you check your body weight at least once a week. When you see a little drop in your weight, reward yourself for this success – not by eating more junk foods- but by purchasing jeans that are a size shorter than your current pair, or by having a vacation in a far-off place!
3. Workout regularly: Don’t ever become lax in your workout routine. Remember that working out regularly will keep your metabolism in high gear so that you can lose weight pretty quickly, while building muscles at the same time. For best results, try to exercise both indoors and outdoors. Even simple walking would do a lot good to you!
4. Eat a healthy diet: Stay away from junk and fried foods because they are your enemies and they made you overweight! Eat healthy foods containing natural fruits and raw vegetables instead! Make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water throughout the day. And starving and crash dieting should be the last thing on your mind – NEVER do it.
