Does Walking Really Help in Weight Loss?
I find it astonishing that people who want to achieve quick weight loss would like to go all the way from expensive weight loss programs and supplements to intense workouts at the gym, but rarely do they take the time to look at the simplest form of exercise available that is both easy to do and free! In fact this exercise is so easy that you won’t feel burnt out as in the case of other intense exercise regimens. In this article I am going to tell you about it.
The exercise is called walking. Did you think about anything else? Sorry to disappoint you, then.
How can walking help you lose weight quickly?
Humans are meant to walk and move. They are not supposed to sit idle. Long before the industrial revolution occurred, humans had to work hard to earn a living. There were no computers, gizmos or telecommunications out there that have made our lives so easy and convenient that we prefer to remain seated on our sofa rather than take a walk in a nearby park. After all, we don’t need to walk to feed our stomachs, right? Instead of scouring for the next best ‘weight loss shortcut’, try this new exercise. Trust my friend, if there were ever an easy way to lose weight, then it has to be walking.
I personally know several people who have lost weight successfully simply by walking a few miles every morning. They didn’t buy any expensive gadgets or waste money on any weight loss pill or supplement, and gym was almost a foreign word to them. And these people were extremely obese, not just a little fat. And if these people can lose weight successfully by using their two legs and shoes, why can’t you?
Have you ever thought why your heart beats so fast whenever you walk? That is because you are in a fat burning zone. When you are in a fat burning zone, you are burning large deposits of fat stored in your body, and in this way, losing chunks of weight!
When is the best time to walk? Some people would say that morning is the best time, but personally I don’t think there is any ‘best time’ for walking. As a matter of fact, in order to get the maximum benefit from walking, you should walk as much as possible. For example, try to walk after you have finished your dinner, or when you get up from your bed. You can also walk up to your office, mall or local grocery store. The possibilities are simply endless. Remember that the more you walk, the faster you will burn fat and lose weight!
Have you ever been bored to death sitting on your office desk? Take a walk! Do you want to digest the food you ate in your lunch time? Again, simply rake a stroll around your office. If you commute to your office by bus, get off a few stops before the actual destination, and walk the rest of the way! Like I said, the possibilities are endless, but you MUST be willing to walk.
