How To Lose Weight Fast By Not Eating Comfort Foods Ever Again

Stress, Comfort Foods and Weight Gain

What do you associate comfort foods with? When do we need these ‘comfort foods’? In order to overcome these and lose weight fast, you have to establish control over your stress levels.

The answer is that there is a connection between these foods, stress and weight gain.

Most comfort foods are high carbohydrate, high fat or both. A bowl of macaroni and cheese or buttery mashed potatoes are just two examples of the variety of food we consider comfort food.

Although very tasty, we often eat them when we are under stress. This decreases your ability to burn fat fast. Comfort foods bring us a sense of security and reassurance we used to get as a child.

Not only do we eat more under stress, we also tend to consume alcohol more often. Alcohol contains nothing but empty calories.

Extra food or alcohol calories means more effort on our part to burn them off.

Studies have shown that women in particular are more at risk for eating and drinking in direct response to stress. Most women claim to do this out of because they feel they have no support emotionally.

It’s important to create support networks to help in times of stress. A group of people we can trust in and let down our guard to release stress.

Having someone around to share things with also removes the desire to find comfort in food. Imagine the number of calories and weight gain you save yourself every time you do not eat an extra piece of chocolate or an extra serving of food?

The first step is to know how you react to stress. Being self-aware will prevent a lot of misguided food choices.

It also means that we can and should stop using stress as an excuse to explain any weight gain.

Controlling your stress levels is the key to lose weight fast. Put these tips into practice today!
