There are only three components to all foods that provide nutrition for the human body – Protein, Fat, and Carbohydrates. Just two of the three are absolutely necessary to human life (along with water), and one is not. Can anyone guess which component is not needed?
If the title didn’t give you an idea, the answer is ‘Carbohydrates’. There are, in fact, societies that thrive quite well with little to no carbohydrates in their diet – Australian Aborigines and Eskimos are two examples. The fact that you can be quite healthy, and live a long lifespan without any carbohydrates at all should be a wake-up call to those of you who believe that the USDA recommended levels of carbohydrates.
Success With Medifast Is Affected By Attitude, But Having A Positive One In The Beginning Isn’t As Necessary As You Might Think: Not every one who has been successful started medifast absolutely sure that this diet was going to be “the one.” In fact, I think that this is the exception rather than the rule. In fact, most people who are starting a new diet have been on so many others before this. And, the reason that they are starting a new diet is that they have failed on previous ones.
So, it would be very difficult, even after doing a lot of research and reading positive case studies, to just blindly know that things are going to be different this time. Your past experiences are obviously going to shape the attitudes that you have today. And, the attitude that you have to do is bound to be reluctant.
But, the people who are happy with their medifast results don’t let these doubts get in their way. They go ahead and plunge forward anyway, even if they think that the end might end up with the same old disappointing result. And, in my experience, usually what happens is that no one is as surprised as them when they start to lose some weight. I can tell you from my own personal experience my thought process was something like this: “Well, I did lose almost five pounds in a week. It was probably water though. But, it sure wouldn’t hurt to see what happens the next week.”
See, my attitude still wasn’t all that great the second week. I still didn’t believe. But, I kept going, didn’t I? And this is the whole key – keeping at it because you want to see what happens next. It really doesn’t matter what your thought process is or whether you believe that this is fluke or not. All that really matter is that you keep going. Because once you go off the diet, you’re probably not going to lose weight because you are doing nothing differently.
The Atkin’s Diet: Much has been written about this very basic diet that has proven to be popular and unpopular at varying times in “diet history.” This food diet first arrived on the scene in the 1970s and was popular for a short time before fading from memory. It returned in the 1990s to enormous support and popularity proving to be one of the diets that work and a very reliable weight loss method. In time, the popularity faded but here is some news: There is much to gain from the Atkin’s Diet. At its core, this is a diet that works around the notion that carbs can make you fat because they turn to fat easily, and help spike insulin levels which are known to promote fat storage.
The pure form of the diet involves eliminating all carbs in an induction phase so as to force the body to burn fat for energy. However, some simply cut back on carbs from their foods as opposed to limiting them. This will have solid results as well. After all, carbs are loaded with calories, they do turn to fat quickly and they definitely spike insulin levels. So cutting some carbs out of your diet will prove helpful. Okay, moving on.
