Why You Can’t Lose Fat…

Fat is ugly. And that’s the primary reason most of us want to get rid of it. Loose belly fat is one of the biggest issues most of us have actually, and that’s the area of our bodies which seem to be the most difficult to get rid of fat from.

A lot of people hope to lose fats and extra weight when they go on a diet, but lots of things can stand in the way. Not every single fat loss regimen out there is built to work for you, and not every single fat loss regimen out there can actually work well. Any doctor or nutritionist can tell you that. You may not be able to lose fat if you have underlying disorders that will keep you from losing them. For instance, if you are of the right weight, but you have only a small amount of body fat, then you may be advised to not lose it since your body needs some amount of fat as well. If you are a woman, you need some body fat to keep your menstrual cycle running.

The issue of losing body fat is controversial, especially with anorexia and bulimia looming in the background. Fat is an especially good target for loss because it can tax on your immune system, and it can take away a lot of metabolic efficiency if it is present in too high amounts.

There are some things that stand in the way of losing fat easily. You cannot lose fat if you have a thyroid disorder, for instance. Some thyroid hormones control the ability of your body to digest and absorb nutrients, and if this control is lost because of under production or over production of hormones, then it can be harder for you to lose fat without some form of endocrine therapy.

Along those lines, you cannot lose fat if you have an underlying hormonal problem. If you have imbalances in your dietary and reproductive hormones, you will not be able to lose fat as easily. You will need to visit a doctor and ask about therapies that can help you lose fat without having to undergo surgery or do anything drastic to your diet that could be dangerous for you.

You can’t lose fat easily if you keep changing your mind about diet and exercise plans either. Choosing one approach and sticking with it for awhile usually gives you the best results for the long term. If you’re not sure which diet plan you should try, talk to your doctor or nutritionist and they’ll work with you to create the best plan.

Keep in mind that some diets will cause you to lose weight fast in the beginning, then your progress may slow down. And while you can theoretically lose body fat just with exercise or diet alone, your best results will always come from a smart combination of the two.
